2024 Cherry Blossom Festival

This year’s Denver Cherry Blossom Festival (June 22-23) was another unforgettable celebration, filled with vibrant energy and the rich sounds of taiko drumming that perfectly complemented the warm, sunny weekend. Our JETAARM booth, set up in partnership with the Consul General of Japan’s office, was a central hub for connecting with the local community and sharing our love for Japanese culture.

Throughout the weekend, our booth was staffed by enthusiastic JETAARM board members and dedicated community members. We were thrilled to meet so many people—JET alumni reminiscing about their time in Japan, prospective JET participants eager to embark on their own journeys, and travelers who either had visited Japan or were planning their next adventure. It was heartwarming to see people from all walks of life come together, united by a shared appreciation for Japan.

The festival itself was a beautiful celebration of Japanese and Asian culture, with traditional performances, delicious food, and an array of cultural displays. Our booth provided a space for meaningful conversations, whether it was answering questions about the JET Program, sharing travel tips, or simply connecting over shared experiences. It was a pleasure to see the community come together in such a joyful and engaging way.

We can’t wait to return next year and continue building these connections. Until then, we’ll be reflecting on the wonderful memories made at this year’s Cherry Blossom Festival and looking forward to more opportunities to celebrate Japanese culture with our community.
