Join us and the Takayama Sister City Committee for a rewarding day of community service and outdoor activity at the City of Takayama Park in Denver, Colorado, a unique and beautiful space, featuring a rock garden with stunning bonsai trees, nestled alongside Cherry Creek. Twice a year, in the spring and fall, we come together as a community to give the park a thorough cleaning, and we would love for you to join us.
On the day of the cleanup, we will be meeting at the park (3700 E Cherry Creek North Dr, Denver, CO, United States, 80209) at 9 am, and our work will continue until noonish. If we have plenty of volunteers, we may be done even sooner. You can park at an office building just a block to the west of the park. If you would like to volunteer please RSVP on our FB event (link).
Once we have all assembled, we will begin the cleanup effort. Our main tasks will include pulling weeds and trimming the bonsai trees. To help us with the latter, we are lucky to have the support of the Rocky Mt. Bonsai Club, whose experts will be on hand to demonstrate and show us how to do it properly. You can get up close with bonsai while making a positive impact on the community and environment.
The cleanup usually lasts just a couple of hours, and the more volunteers we have, the quicker it will go. We will provide water and some snacks to keep you fueled up and energized throughout the morning. We encourage all participants to dress for the weather and wear sturdy, comfortable shoes. Work gloves are also helpful if you have them.
Volunteering at the City of Takayama Park cleanup is a wonderful way to give back to your community, meet new people, and enjoy the great outdoors. By helping to maintain this beautiful park, you will be making a lasting contribution to the environment and enhancing the natural beauty of this cherished public space. So, come out and join us for a morning of good work and good company. We can't wait to see you there!
