On the 5 year anniversary of the 3.11 Tsunami, Join JETAA Rocky Mountain and to see how the people of Tohoku have reclaimed their lives, community, and future – in the first showing of the 113 Project. Director and Executive Producer Wesley Julian will be joining us to answer questions about the documentary and life in Tohoku today.
We will hold the screening on Sunday, March 13th at 2pm at the Sie Film Center, 2510 E. Colfax Ave, Denver.
Your suggested donation of $10 is your RSVP and cost of admission. All funds raised will be donated to organizations dedicated to rebuilding and strengthening the communities affected by Great Tohoku Earthquake & Tsunami.
About the films: From the creative team of the documentary Tohoku Tomo, an IFDA Finalist with over 30 domestic and international screening to date, comes the 113 Project, a short film series inviting you to rediscover Tohoku through the eyes of young adults, local businesses, and other communities rebuilding their lives and working towards the future.
Featuring over a dozen interviews and stories embodying hope and perseverance, these short films showcase the warmth and beauty of the region while sharing the voices of people who want to let you know how life is today.
The public is encouraged to use the hashtag #TTweek for Tohoku Tomo Week, where thoughts, photos, and memories of Tohoku can be shared on social media.
